Rothwell Town was founded approximately 20 years ago from what at that time was still the old Rothwell Juniors. Each decided to go their own way and we have had a friendly rivalry ever since.
In the early years it was the hard work of our Past President, Eric Batley, that turned the club into what it is today.
This early work has seen the club grow from a standing start to around 20 age groups, with players ranging from ages 4 to 40 (and some older, if they would care to admit it!).
The club's growth has inevitably put a strain on our facilities but we are pleased with the work Leeds City Council in conjunction with the Football Foundation and green Leeds have done to complete our new changing rooms within the Rose Lund Centre.
These were opened in 2009 at a cost of nearly £250K We are also pleased to announce that Rothwell Town has recently become a Charter Standard Club.
It has been a huge undertaking to attain this status and the club would like to thank all those people behind the scenes who have made this possible. It can only raise our profile and add to our continued success.
Our goal remains to provide the highest quality sport for all our members, from the very youngest taking their first steps onto a football pitch to those playing competitive matches at open age.
We will strive to continually make Rothwell Town a place people wish to come to enjoy their football.
